Carova Beach is the northernmost beach on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  It is only accessible via 4wd.  The paved road stops just North of Corolla light.  From there you drive on the beach to reach Carova.

There is a small population of wild horses that still roam the beaches from Sandbridge, Virginia down thru Carova Beach and further South.
